Joe Piatt
Joe Piatt is one of only three certified masters in the
Peggy
Harris technique of painting realistic fur and feathers, and is also a
licensed instructor of the Bob Ross technique.
He enjoys painting landscapes and flowers, and especially loves painting wildlife.
Joe first discovered painting during recovery from severe injuries caused by a
motorcycle accident. One day, he was watching Bob Ross' "The Joy of Painting" on
television and decided that he would like to try it. He found that painting helped him get
through his long recovery and took his mind off the pain.
Since the accident, Joe has made painting a full-time job. He spends winters in Florida
teaching at campgrounds, averaging 1,200 to 1,500 students per season.
In the summers, Joe travels the United States, teaching Let's Paint Run-A-Ways
workshops to artists of all ages and skill levels. "Painting is a good pastime for
people who have a lot of stress," says Joe.
